tanford University's Research Communication Program (dubbed IRITE) aims to help educators, students, and communication professionals locate and make use of ongoing research at the university. By distilling theses, papers, and dissertations into brief, jargon-free "IRITE Statements", the program makes Stanford's research more accessible to lay people outside of a given department or speciality.
The IRITE program directors engaged me to design a compelling, user-friendly website with two primary goals: to act as a gateway to the research statements, and to encourage Stanford faculty and students to participate in the program as either contributors or reviewers of research. The site I designed includes interfaces for browsing through the statements, categorized in a multi-tiered hierarchy of disciplines and specialities, as well as searching the entire libarary of statements. Select statements are profiled within each discipline and on the home page, allowing site administrators to call attention to research that is especially timely or topical.
The IRITE website is currently in development.
